About Nancy Golubiewski

I work at the cross-section of the grand environmental challenges of our time: land-use change, biodiversity loss, and climate change, exploring interconnections in order to understand ecological integrity and sustainability for people and planet. I am an ecosystem ecologist and land systems scientist engaged in interdisciplinary research and science-policy advice and development. Through much of my scientific research, I have investigated the ecological implications of land-use change at a variety of scales (local to national) using field-based measurements, remote sensing analytics, geospatial techniques, and systems analyses. Drawing on this scientific expertise, I also advise on evidence-based environmental policy and management. I have worked internationally (including the United States, Middle East, and New Zealand) across a variety of sectors, including academic, research, non-governmental (NGO) and governmental organizations. My research has been published in various international, peer-reviewed journals such as Science, Global Change Biology, Ecological Applications, Urban Ecosystems, and Journal of Environmental Management.
