About Nancy Jackson

With a tartan kilt as my uniform, my career in the hospitality industry began in operations at Canada's iconic 'Castle in the Rockies'- the Banff Springs hotel. Several progressive positions later and thousands of miles traveled, as Project Manager for a luxury hotel management company and key contributor to the opening of 33 hotels in 19 countries including the UAE, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, India, South Africa, Azerbaijan, Turkey, Russia, Indonesia, China, Canada and the USA, my 'uniform' includes a hard hat while working on construction sites. As a Project Manager, I thrive on effectively navigating and balancing the strategic, financial and cultural complexities of multi-brand, multi-stakeholder projects on a global scale. My successes include implementation of a global Project Management platform that brought the international division's vital stakeholders together. This project included development of critical paths for 15 departments, launching the platform throughout Corporate office, Regional offices and pre-opening hotel teams, and creating and delivering a customized training program across the organization.With an eye for detail and accuracy, I critically analyze budget submissions to ensure alignment with market forecasts as well as Owner and Brand expectations. Continually refining processes, I implemented a hotel pre-opening budget template which maximized customization and reporting capabilities, resulting in increased productivity and quicker approval and funding. Passionate about travel and with immense appreciation for the diversity of cultures around the world, I have experienced the joy of traveling (for both work and pleasure) to 64 countries on six continents. From picking tea leaves and crafting my own signature tea blend in Sri Lanka to playing a didgeridoo in the Australian Outback, I balance working hard with a quest to learn and enjoy inspiring life experiences.
