About Nancy Parent
I am an anthropologist, educator, and musician. My focus is interdisciplinary teaching and learning grounded in dialogic methods and reflective practice. I have taught social science courses in higher ed for over 20 years. I bring a passion for anthropological perspectives and methodologies to learner-centered pedagogy, empathy-building, and community engagement. Much of my work has also been committed to faculty development, interdisciplinary programming, and bridging perspectives and initiatives. My research is in the anthropology of education including arts integration and reading fluency, and indigenous pedagogies and informal science learning.
