About Nancy Peer
Over twenty years of progressive nursing experience with fourteen of these years in nursing education. Passionate about student learning and teaching strategies to assist nursing students understand the nursing process and their scope of practice. Experience in acute care, home care, long term care and community nursing. Assisted in the development of two Connecticut-based nursing programs: the Associate Degree Program at Goodwin College (2004 - 2010) and the development of the Bachelors of Science Degree Program at Central Connecticut State University (2010 to present). Nursing specialties include medical-surgical nursing, nutrition, and medical-surgical clinical instruction. Assisted in the development of the 35 credit MSN Program in Hospice and Palliative Care, which accepted its first cohort in 2017. This nine course curriculum allows the graduate nurse to become prepared for leadership positions, clinical instruction, or specialized care. Graduates will also be academically prepared for certification in Hospice and Palliative Care, as our curriculum is cohesive with the certification exam content.
