About Nancy Petlon

Over 27 years experience in a variety of clinical and administrative professional nursing roles. Currently my career path has taken me to Alicare Medical Management an affiliate of an A.M Best's rated "A" NY life insurance company, Amalgamated Life Insurance. My focus is in Clinical and Medical Utilization Management for our customer base of clients made up of managed care and commercial insurance companies; insured and self insured organizations; HMO's; and third party administrators nationwide. I am well versed in Medicare and CMS regulatory affairs, their cost and quality initiatives across the continuum of care, and the day to day benefit utilization of CMS FFS and MA members and certified providers. I am a certified Long Term Care Professional and have experience in long term care benefit case management for our Federal and Veteran populations. Clinically I stay tuned up in a variety of specialties with special attention to Cardiology, Gerontology, Interventional and Chronic Pain Management, Chronic Disease management, General Nursing Practice and Standards, Emergency Healthcare Management, Case Management, and Utilization Management, among other fascinating specialties. I am an early adapter to EMR/EHR, healthcare technology, and implementation of self healthcare management tools for patients, caregivers and clinical providers. Current goals - obtain a Transitional Care Case Manager Certification and a Masters in Health Administration. I am always patient and outcome focused, I can be depended on to understand the situation at hand and engage with my colleagues as a team to best address the individual, group, community, or population needs in the health care and clinical realm. I love being a nurse and haven't looked back! I enjoy looking to the future of healthcare, and meeting it's challenges everyday.
