About Nancy Raven Sinclair

The journey of life has taken me through a life of addictions, homelessness, violence, hating my culture and people and a walk-through dark alleys & valleys. The hopelessness and loneliness were felt far too many times. Having a family of my own helped me through the dark times. The strong willingness to protect and love fiercely, became the focus of my life - knowing I needed to change my ways for the betterment of my children. What I experienced is something I did not want my children to suffer through. Through all the pain of the darker days, I built resilience and a broader understanding that life is not easy for so many. Injustices is what brings me to where I am today. My goal is to educate and be an advocate for the lost, the ones who are wandering around not knowing who they are and where they came from. It is not an easy road to exit off from, but if I can be given the chance to help the lost find their way back; then I know my past was worth it.* Deep understanding of First Nations Peoples, their history and experiences of colonization and trauma.* Knowledge of provincial and federal health systems and Aboriginal/First Nations health systems needs.* Knowledge of health-related issues in general and those affecting First Nation communities.
