As a service-oriented leader, I believe in the power of uncomfortable conversations, leading with compassion, and creating spaces where people feel heard, respected, and empowered. My journey of over 20 years in public service has been guided by a commitment to human rights, equity, and advocacy. At the City of Tacoma, my work as a Human Rights Manager allowed me to address complex issues head-on, supporting marginalized communities and driving meaningful change. I am a firm advocate for equity and inclusion, with experience that spans conflict mediation, community engagement, and program development. Through fostering educational initiatives and collaborating with diverse teams, I've led efforts that center on equity, from community outreach to policies that protect and elevate human rights. In my role as a Victim Advocate, I have navigated the criminal justice system to provide trauma-informed, compassionate support to those in need. My approach is to meet each individual with empathy, ensuring they have a voice and access to resources. My work has been about more than service—it's about standing together in the face of adversity to drive lasting change. I believe in the strength of collective action to build a more just and inclusive society, and I am dedicated to advancing this mission wherever I go.
