About Nancy Turner

Nancy is a seasoned education leader with over 20 years of experience advancing instructional quality and student outcomes across a wide range of settings. A former high school teacher and elementary turnaround school leader, she brings deep expertise in school leadership coaching, teacher recruitment and development, and strategic organizational planning to improve literacy and learning opportunities for all students. Throughout her career, Nancy has helped shape national conversations around teacher preparation, educator pathways, and school turnaround, frequently presenting on these topics to influence practice and policy. She holds a Master of Arts in Teaching from The Citadel, Military College of South Carolina, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership and Policy from The George Washington University. Her work has been recognized with several honors, including the Charles E. Hirshey Award and multiple scholarships for academic excellence. Nancy currently serves as a Director at TNTP, where she leads a portfolio of work across Louisiana and Arkansas—supporting statewide and regional initiatives to recruit, train, and retain teachers where they are needed most, all in service of ensuring every student has access to great teaching.
