About Nanda Patel

Nanda Patel, MA Ed. Nanda has worked with Art for over 40 years. She is from East Africa, India, London, Indiana USA and now Alabama. She has worked with many mediums and has exhibited in 3 shows. Her accumulation of cultures brings forth her emotions in her works. Nanda served over 25 years her community teaching art, through community enhancement projects. She now owns and runs ‘Gallery at 808’ where there is her studio, classrooms and Gallery. Her work is mostly focused on commissioned art and exhibits. After 22 years in hospitality and serving on the Etowah County/ Greater Gadsden Tourism Board she now serves on the State Tourism Advisory Board. She helps tourism at county, regional and state levels. She has helped develop and enhance the arts. She keeps a fluid involvement in the community and its need for economic and commercial growth by being on the Chamber of Commerce, Industrial Development Authority- IDA, Business Council of Alabama. Her recent appointment is on the ALABAMA ADVISORY BOARD ON MINORITY AFFAIRS, which she is looking forward to serve. Also she has been appointed to serve on the She combined philanthropy and giving through her work. Nanda sits on Board of Community Foundation of NE Al. Her interest is in the growth of the Arts, tourism and workforce development. Nanda also serves on the Gadsden Museum Of Arts Board She has exhibited her Art, twice in Gadsden Al- the ‘Lady in a Sari’, a show that enhances the Sari as a fabric and a dress. She has painted a painting on a sari in the collection, A story of a lady in a sari. The second one is ‘East West - My Journey’ a collection of 6 pieces that showcase a multi medium showcase of works letting know her travels through the continents and its emotional effects. Her Exhibit in Talladega, Al, features all her art will be at the Heritage Hall. It is called ‘Nanda’s journey’.
