About Nane Avagyan

Award-winning journalist with over 25 years of experience covering major international events, including NATO Summits, European Union, and Council of Europe sessions. Throughout my career, I have worked as a journalist, editor, and producer across leading media outlets - interviewing world leaders such as presidents, prime ministers, and secretary generals. I was among the first Armenian journalists to work closely with European institutions during Armenia’s initial steps toward European integration. My television program featured interviews and short documentaries from across Europe, contributing to public discourse on democracy and human rights. In parallel with my media work, I’ve held leadership roles in nonprofit organizations that promote European values in Armenia. I also deepened my expertise in European affairs through a prestigious fellowship in the United Kingdom, granted by the Embassy of Great Britain—focused on European and international economics. Since relocating to the U.S. in 2009, I have continued my journalism career with a focus on the Armenian American community and U.S. contributions to Armenia. I’ve also expanded into community engagement- organizing cultural and educational festivals, concerts, and programs that celebrate Armenian heritage and build bridges across diverse communities in California. As part of these efforts, I collaborate with educational institutions, including public schools as well as Glendale and Los Angeles City Colleges. My contributions have been recognized by U.S. Congress members, California State Senators, L.A. County Supervisor, city mayors, and various community organizations. I currently serve as Co-Chair of the European Subcommittee at the L.A. County Department of Mental Health and as a board member of the Glendale YMCA
