Background

About Naoki Morikawa

As a Chief Specialist at Topcon, I bring over 14 years of experience in professional application development for 3D mass data solution, with a strong focus on the geospatial and survey industry. My career began with a deep dive into software engineering, UI/UX, and algorithm development, which laid the foundation for my transition into project management roles. My true passion, which started with my university research in autonomous mobile robotics, lies in solving complex problems with SLAM, 3D point cloud, and image processing. This passion drives me to create digital-to-real solutions that extend beyond passive sensing, bringing data closer to the user and directly impacting real-world applications. With 11 years of international experience, I see myself as a connector, someone who can unite diverse, international teams and bridge cultural and technical divides. I believe in getting to the root of a problem—not just putting out fires—and I'm always eager to dive in and learn something new. My career has been built on the motto of "Let's think and act together" to deliver innovative solutions. I seek to contribute to environments that prioritize methodologies, quality, efficiency, and mutual respect, thriving as both a strategic leader and a hands-on contributor.
