About Narayanan Sastry

Celebrating the Silver Jubilee (25 Years) ceremony of my working career 25 years ago, I started my professional journey in May riding the upcoming IT wave in the Indian market. During the course of these 25 years, I have enjoyed the highs of the IT boom, endured the lows of the various economic bust cycles while steadily progressing in my work life. I had the joys of working in the various industries including IT services, Financial products and for the past nearly 18 years in the Healthcare industry. In the post-pandemic world, the Healthcare industry is adapting to the new realities and frailties exposed by the Coronavirus pandemic. On the one hand, advanced economies considering their healthcare systems to be invulnerable have seen how quickly the pandemic overwhelmed the available resources challenging them to take emergency actions. On the other hand, the developing and the underdeveloped economies just realized how woefully they are short of critical resources that are needed for the health of the society. This is a critical juncture for the healthcare industry as a lot of ideals on which the past generation of healthcare has been built are all being reopened, reconsidered, and reevaluated. Right from the approval process, to the patent regime to the manufacturing pipelines, everything is back on the table.I am excited at the prospect of the road ahead, just as I was about the Indian IT industry when I started my career. I have had the good fortune to have experienced the industry in engineering, research, and marketing aspects giving a broader perspective of the challenges involved in the next evolution of the Industry. Key technologies such as Generative AI and Workflow enablers leading to a simpler, consistent and value added solutions are leading the road ahead, but more disruptive technologies such as Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality could alter the way we experience Healthcare completely. As Global Business Development Manager for the CT Group of Canon Medical Systems Corporation, I am excited to be working with one of the most innovative companies in shaping this future. In this role, I leverage my technical and domain expertise to help devise strategic "Bring to Market" strategies for different geographical locations for all the technological and clinical advancements in the field of CT from Canon. At the end of 25 years of exciting career, I think I am at the beginning of a more exciting career ahead!
