About Nasan Maimon

Rabbi Nasan Maimon, originally from New York City and since 1987 from Jerusalem, received smicha (rabbinic ordination) from the Central Yeshiva of Chassidei Breslov in Jerusalem. He is the director of the yeshiva's English-speaking kollel as well as the founding director of an online Breslov resource center at Maimon delivers classes and lectures in Talmud and chassidus throughout Israel, as well as in the U.S, Canada, and South Africa. His online community is large and expanding, as thousands access his media library, the only one of its kind in the Breslov community. In addition to being a dynamic teacher, he is a caring, attentive counselor for families worldwide. He studied under Rabbi Tzvi Aryeh Rosenfeld, Rabbi Yechiel Michel Dorfman, and Rabbis Moshe and Nacḥman Burstein. In 1979 when the Soviets threatened to destroy Rabbi Nacḥman’s gravesite, Rabbi Maimon was appointed by the Breslov community as their spokesman to avert this threat. Through high-level meetings with Jewish leaders Rav Moshe Feinstein, the rabbis of Satmar and Lubavitcher, Rabbi Moshe Sherer, and Rav Pinchas Teitz, as well as officials from the U.S. State Department and the Kremlin, the gravesite was preserved. This resulted in the preservation of the adjoining gravesite of Jewish martyrs. Through these efforts, thousands have been able to visit this holy site since that time.
