As an Employment & Education Consultant at Halifax Refugee Clinic, I provide individualized and comprehensive guidance to clients regarding their education and employment needs and goals, considering their skills, qualifications, and aspirations. I supervise and support their job search endeavors, empowering them to proactively tackle challenges and opportunities in their journey. I also develop innovations that can improve the experience and/or outcomes of clients in the learning and job market. I also have over two years of experience as a Multilingual Case Manager at the YMCA Nova Scotia Works, where I assisted diverse clients in career development and job search process, providing guidance and support on resume and cover letter writing, job search strategies, and interview skills. I have a Master of Education degree in Second Language Education from the University of Ottawa, an Honours Bachelor's Degree in English Language, Literature, and Cultural Studies from McMaster University, and I am fluent in Arabic, English, and Farsi/Persian. I am an organized education professional with effective communication skills and a knack for building relationships, creating open and safe spaces, and public speaking. Highly capable of taking on leadership roles and delegating as necessary, through collaboration, teamwork, as well as independent work. Experienced in developing innovative solutions that enhance clients’ and students’ performance and outcome. I am passionate about helping others and making a difference, and I seek to leverage my skills and expertise in the education field to offer unique support to members of the educational organization.
