About Nasim Amini

If the 20th century was the era of power, capital and production for the cities, the 21st century is about diversifying, keeping up with the speed of change and reevaluating our existing urban systems. Today we have the capability and necessity for much faster actions with greater influence from all different scale of interventions due to the increase of proximities and networks in cities. As a designer, urban thinker and individual I am in the process of gaining the required mental agility for such elastic condition, to foresee patterns of change in cities and identify opportunities. It is no longer the case to recognize problems, satisfy requirements and simply react; rather we need to re-imagine possibilities, initiate actions and filter the complex array of interests into simplified cohesive solutions. In doing so, I question the capacity of single disciplines and isolated system analysis methods to contribute to the well being of our urban settings, thus my objective is to be part of a diverse team of professionals, interested in multidisciplinary design as a main tool for dealing with today’s urban conditions.
