As a Registered Nurse at Virginia Mason Medical Center; I provided direct, high-quality care and maintained a confidential and safe environment for patients of all demographics on the GI Medsurg unit. Additionally, I am charge trained and served as a RN preceptor that problem-solved, advocated for patients, consulted families, administered high-risk medications, wound care, collaborated with healthcare teams, and provided education. As a Professional Radiologist Assistant; I provided administrative support to over 80 sub specialized and regional radiologists in both Seattle and Spokane. Additionally, given my previous lab experiences during my undergrad and educational background in Public Health (MPH) and Health sciences (BS), as well as my current CNA and CPR certification; I have the ability to aid in a clinical work. Although unrelated, working as an English Teacher in Japan has allowed me to demonstrate my leadership and teamwork ability and has exposed me to a different culture and various individuals of all ages. Through clinical volunteering at Shepard’s Hope and my Obesity Prevention program I have acquired experience working with patients both on a public health level and on a clinical level. Through my Independent Study (Veteran Identity Construction research) I acquired skills such as utilizing qualitative research to explore mental health challenges veterans experience. I have a skill for problem solving and work well independently and with little oversight. I am patient, empathetic, organized, and hard working. I excel at caring for patients, administering treatments, and collecting laboratory samples. I am familiar with aseptic technique, culture isolation and identification, medium preparation, titration, differential staining, ability to keep accurate lab records, and learn new procedures quickly.
