About Natalie Heldsinger

Natalie Heldsinger is the Communications Officer at the Waterloo Climate Institute at the University of Waterloo. Natalie is responsible for creating communications content, disseminating member research, organizing events, and supporting press releases and media requests for the Climate Institute. Natalie completed her Masters in Environment and Resource Studies, focusing her research on the effectiveness of various tools for communicating sustainability research to targeted audiences. The project explored social media (LinkedIn and Twitter) and conferences as channels to effectively share research findings and information with key audiences. Further, Natalie integrated her undergraduate studies in Communications with her Master’s research, which has enabled her to develop a deep understanding of strategies to communicate research and knowledge in ways that will engage people and influence behaviour change. Natalie has a background in sustainability, communications, and French. Her experiences, both professional and personal, have shaped her passion and desire to work toward sustainability initiatives. In addition to Natalie's interests in the environment and communications, she is passionate about healthy living, yoga, and travelling. Natalie is a Certified Holistic Nutrition Coach and Yoga Instructor.
