About Natalja Laurey

Anthropologist in training, creative at heart. I am a researcher,(cultural) strategist and educator with a strong back ground in anthropology and innovation. Currently I am leading the research team at Adyen. I have 12+ years of research and strategy experience in both academia (PhD, Assistant Professor) and business (Adyen, Fjord, a.o.). I am relationship-driven, and connecting with people is at the center of who I am and what I do. I love working in a creative environment on the 'new new thing': worlds that are quickly evolving, ridden of ambiguity but full of possibility. I am endlessly curious about human experiences. This curiosity about how people make sense of the world around them is what initially drew me to anthropology and (organizational) ethnography. Along the way, I found myself increasingly drawn to spaces where creativity, innovation and design intersect. My research work has led to several publications, of which some were awarded (Academy of Management, Young Talent Award), public speaking engagements (UX Insights 2024, UX Amsterdam) and (guest) lectures (TU Delft, VU University, Technion).
