I am a highly experienced Project Manager working for over 18 within the industry. I have managed multiple projects with values up to £6m and durations up to six years, including the successful DSC Safety Case for the Atomic Weapons Establishment (AWE), defence projects for BAE and Magnox Waste Programme Support Framework. I have experience across the three key areas of delivery management; co-ordination and control of call-off contracts, and provision of contractual reporting. Working as a Project Manager I have thrived in implementing and developing teams whilst delivering projects on time and within budget. I have managed the successful, safe, and efficient delivery of projects from FEED (Front End Engineering Design) and Project initiation, through execution to closure. Identifying project risks and managing those risks at every stage to minimize potential impact on programme and cost, communicating throughout the process both internally to all interested parties and externally to the customers and stakeholders. Projects have covered sectors including nuclear, water, oil & gas and defence. I am a collaborative manager, taking my time to work with other professionals at all business levels to understand the ‘pros and cons’ from the point of view of all stakeholders. Then combining my engineering knowledge and understanding of the whole project with the views of colleagues/customers to reach a decision/proposal of the best (safe, timely, commercially viable, technically sound) solution to meet the client’s expectations. As some of the core functions of a line manager I’ve gained vast experience in managing the work load of teams from a day-to-day and from a monthly/quarterly approach, to ensure resources are balanced against the upcoming workload. I have created and implemented Continued Professional Development plans for my team.
