Background
About Natasha Boscic
Having previously worked in supportive roles that allowed insight into organizations as a whole I had the opportunity to learn about employees’ needs. These experiences lead me to pursue the Industrial/Organizational Psychology degree where I learned specific steps that can be taken to improve the employee experience. My most recent role was a broad one and included supporting the CEO as well as the HR Team, Managing Director, and the creative team among others. Working with a diverse group of employees was an invaluable learning experience. I came out of it with better communication skills, the ability to tailor my approach to different personalities, improved negotiating abilities, and a general understanding of the employees’ movement within and out of the organization. Six years in this position provided a great insight into employees’ many issues. The issue that sparked my interest the most was the training and development opportunities employees are given and how it relates to retention. While I played no role in determining the programs to be implemented, I had an active role in bringing the programs to life and tracking the progress. My experience ranges from researching and contacting vendors to setting them up in our organization to monitoring attendance and tracking employee progress. It was this one aspect of the role that led me to get the I/O Psychology degree so that I can move on to the next step and be a part of the team that makes decisions on which programs will benefit employees most. Joining a Training and Development team will propel my evolution from a supporting role into a decision-maker role. It will also allow me to use the knowledge acquired at school and practical knowledge from past positions to enhance employees’ time at your organization.
