Background
About Natasha Ramirez
Natasha Ramirez earned a bachelor’s degree in childhood education from St. John’s University and received a master’s degree in special education from Hunter College. Her passion for education began while attending The Young Women’s Leadership School (TYWLS) of East Harlem, where she had the desire to provide a foundation for students who were at a socio-economic and cultural disadvantage. For over 10 years, she has pursed multiple opportunities as an educator, including working as a tutor, after-school counselor, and elementary school teacher in an urban setting. Natasha has excellent communication skills and specialized in managing students effectively by creating a safe and friendly learning environment in a culturally diverse classroom setting. She has been a member of Kappa Delta Pi and the Association for Childhood Education International (ACEI). She has most recently served as the New York Tri-State Regional Academic Advisor for Latinas Promoviendo Comunidad/Lambda Pi Chi Sorority, Inc, where she has taken part in multiple leadership roles on her campus as an undergraduate and within her communities as a professional. At her most recent employment at Student Leadership Network, she worked closely with several all-girl public schools, was a leader of the TYWLS Alumni Council, and oversaw teacher and administration professional development and partnerships. For my future objectives, I am seeking a challenging position that utilizes my professional experience and education while offering me an opportunity for professional growth. I would like to take the qualities I have acquired as an educator, manager and advocate for social justice in girls’ education, and building of professional networks and use it to support and guide clients, consumers, and staff members to their optimal end result and/or potential.
