About Nate Thomas

Currently Interim Managing Director at FLOWN – a company on a mission to help people find focus, flow, and a little more joy in their workday. We’re building a new way of working, rooted in neuroscience and the power of group accountability and connection. On the side, I run breathwork workshops and retreats with my partner, Roxi. I didn’t follow a conventional path into tech or leadership – before FLOWN, I was a startup COO for Herdd, a yoga teacher, filmmaker, breathwork coach, and backstage theatre technician, working on some of the world’s biggest shows, like *The Lion King* and *Harry Potter*, in venues from London’s West End to the Sydney Opera House. These seemingly disconnected chapters have shaped how I approach leadership. I believe leadership is fundamentally about people – coupled with curiosity, creativity, and a genuine desire to create environments that feel good and do good. I care deeply about team culture, building businesses that put humans first, and finding small rituals that make a big difference to your day. To me, life = human connection and human experience. In a world where AI is set to change the entire landscape of how we work, play, interact and think, my hope is that at the heart of global society we remain human beings interacting with human beings – supported by digital wizardry. Outside of work, I enjoy the wilder sides of life: surfing, snowboarding, skydiving, and scuba diving (though those last two haven’t happened in a while, admittedly!) – and I get my physical fix through the endlessly humbling journey of being 6ft 2in and training in calisthenics. I’m not an active checker of LinkedIn DMs, so expect a slow response — I work for a focus company, after all.
