About Nathan Adams

I am an Associate Lawyer at Mann Lawyers LLP with a background in environmental science, specializing in Environmental Litigation. My current practice involves serving as co-counsel on Canada’s first and only certified class action involving PFAS “forever chemicals,” representing property owners whose drinking water and property value have allegedly been impacted by PFAS contamination. This work sits at the intersection of environmental science and law, placing me at the forefront of PFAS contamination stigma-related class action litigation in Canada. I have over a decade of experience in biodiversity research and international sustainable development, with work spanning Canada, the U.S, Malta, and Indonesia. Before law, I managed a global wildlife conservation research office, led research expeditions in Indonesian tropical rainforests, and contributed to wildlife conservation as a published scientist. I have a Bachelor of Science in Earth Systems (Magna Cum Laude, University of Malta), a Master of Environmental Science (University of Toronto, Rotary Scholarship Funded), and a Juris Doctor (Cum Laude, University of Ottawa). I was called to the Ontario Bar in 2024 and earned a Certificate in ESG, Sustainability, Climate Risk and the Law from Osgoode Hall in 2025. Within the environmental law community, I serve on the Executive of the Ontario Bar Association’s Environmental Law Section, the PFAS Committee of the Ontario Environment Industry Association (ONEIA), and the Technical Advisory Committee of the Canadian Brownfields Network (CBN). I regularly speak on PFAS litigation and also mentor students from the University of Toronto and University of Ottawa who are exploring careers in environmental law.
