About Nathan Baune

Few things are more exhilarating and fulfilling for me than working with an inspired cross-functional team to create and innovate. I am experienced in leading R&D to solve problems for folks with the greatest need. I am especially interested in optimizing—and overcoming barriers to—human performance and skill learning, whether it be difficulties in recovery due to injury or getting the most out of training. I'm a tech enthusiast because it affords me the opportunity to answer new questions and solve new problems. I have over a decade of experience in basic and clinical research science (answering questions) and over 4 years of experience in product R&D and start-up development (solving problems). I have expertise in multi-sensory integration (visual and bodily sensation) in service of human performance and skill learning, using techniques including neuro/bio-physiologic recording, biofeedback, neuromodulation, neuroimaging, virtual reality, wearable sensors, mocap, robotics, eye-tracking, and machine learning. Outside of my professional life I enjoy cycling, snowboarding & skiing, gardening, and foraging for mushrooms with my wife and dogs.
