About Nathan Blehar

I am a business owner, and consultant strategist, helping other business owners to deliver their struggling companies out from under unsupportable debt, using strategies that allow them to preserve underlying operational value, their employee's jobs, and the services that their customers rely on. I employ a diverse portfolio of strategy, working in concert with creditors, vendors, and landlords, to achieve settlement of debt outside of the context of messy litigation. Perhaps more importantly, my objective is to preserve the business itself, and prevent it's dissolution in the event of default. At Second Wind, we are an alternative to the destructive process of bankruptcy- one that preserves the valuable aspects of a business without letting it get crushed by debt, or liquidated by creditors. After over a decade of business ownership and entrepreneurship, I have become intimately knowledgable and sensitive to the combination of glorious success and overwhelming stress that is business ownership and management. When is it a good idea to take on debt? How can one best maximize growth opportunities while taking on debt? When is debt truly unsupportable, and what can be done? It brings me immense intellectual and emotional fulfillment to be able to help people find answers to these questions, and to build effective strategies based on those answers. I've had the pleasure and opportunity to work with a number of charitable organizations to fund community building and relief efforts, including: Big Brothers Big Sisters Food Bank of Western Ma Dana Farber The United Way Habitat for Humanity Tapestry Health Just Roots Farm My path has been organic and continues to evolve. As I moved from teaching/performing into small business startup and management, and now consulting and negotiating for distressed companies, I have found that these disciplines have more in common than not. The common thread is people- My work has always been about inspiring, empowering, organizing and facilitating success for individuals and groups of people.
