Mr. Cline had been a Gifted and Talented coordinator for Ouray schools during the 2010-2011 school year. Mr. Cline came into a very tenuous position of GT coordinator one of which was not brought to its full potential the previous years and a position that had the community at large requesting a strong program for their students. Within the year Mr. Cline rebuilt the gifted and talented program, instating new programs, bringing in guest speakers and starting a new after school GT club called “Discovery Club”. Mr. Cline’s strengths are establishing a standards based classroom that enriches all learners in a multifaceted approach, using hands on, life applicable and high engagement strategies. Mr. Cline became very knowledgeable of his students and their interests. One of his many strengths are his communication with parents, staff and students. Mr. Cline is open to new ideas and thoughts for his pedagogy from peers and administrators alike. An example of this is how he worked with our “At Risk” population in a life skills class, giving students consistent and fair life lessons and practices to meet each individuals needs in a respectful manner. Mr. Cline is a dedicated, conscientious, teacher who is committed to all his students for their success, doing this with high academic expectations. I would not hesitate to give Mr. Cline a careful consideration to adding him to any professional staff.
