About Nathan Depew

With a Master's degree in International Affairs from American University and a background in electrical engineering, I am passionate about the intersection of technology, policy, and security, especially in the context of U.S-China relations. I have honed my Mandarin Chinese skills and deepened my understanding of Chinese politics through rigorous coursework and research at the American Foreign Policy Council, where I gathered and analyzed open-source intelligence on the People's Liberation Army's joint exercises and translated high-level Chinese government publications for a book project. I also have a strong technical foundation in semiconductor technology and patent law, as a registered patent agent and a former intern at Texas Instruments. There, I supported the Government and Public Affairs team on projects, events, and research concerning federal policy relevant to strategic priorities and semiconductor technology. I monitored legislation, assessed policy risks, and represented the company externally in key trade association meetings and congressional briefings. I am eager to leverage my skills and experience to pursue an international career in foreign policy and make a positive impact on a global scale.
