About Nathan Fellman

I had spent my entire career in education—20 years in the “Big System” of traditional public, charter, and independent schools. Then, in December 2023, I was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer with metastasis all over, most aggressively in my liver. Facing a prognosis measured in days and months, I was given a miracle, a second life. Today, I am in treatment, healthy, and looking ahead—not in months, but in years and (dare I write it!) decades. Second life brought a renewed mission: redefine education from scratch. In pursuing this mission, I challenge outdated models and advocate for student autonomy, school choice, and AI-driven learning. I work to create learning environments that empower students to take ownership of their education, think independently, and solve real-world problems. My leadership is deeply rooted in a faith that recognizes we were created in the image of Creation. I see education not just as a system but as a calling—an opportunity to help young people become the creators they were designed to be. Advocate for School Choice & Individualized Learning Every student deserves an education tailored to their strengths—not the military-industrial model that prioritizes standardization over development. I engage in policy discussions on school choice, educational freedom, and curriculum reform that address these deficiencies. AI in Education: A Necessary Evolution Education must integrate artificial intelligence to enhance human intelligence. I advocate for AI-driven personalized learning that empowers teachers to equip students with 21st-century skills. Ignoring the impact of artificial intelligence on human development is a catastrophic failure of the Big System.
