About Nathan Landers

As someone who grew up in a family of musicians, music has always been a large part of my life. I started taking piano lessons in the elementary school, and ever since then music has been a major passion of mine. In middle school I started playing the trumpet, which is now my primary instrument, but I am now a multi-instrumentalist, as well as a tenor on rare occasion. I have performed with many ensembles, including the Auburn Symphonic Winds, the Auburn Brass Quintet, and the Auburn Trumpet Ensemble. I aim to have a career as a professional trumpet player. I also have a great passion for the sciences. As a physics major at Auburn University, I have joined the neurophysics lab group within the physics department. As a member of the group I have developed computational methods of analyzing vesicle motion within neurons, and contributed to a presentation given at the 2022 American Physical Society meeting. I aim to eventually earn my doctorate in physics and pursue a career in research and academia.
