About Nathan Lin

I am a Ph.D. researcher in inorganic chemistry at Purdue University, where I explore the electronic structure and reactivity of low-valent organouranium complexes. My creativity allows me to leverage my strong fundamental knowledge in order to innovate new technologies. As part of my research, I use air-free techniques to synthesize and characterize organometallic compounds, and apply electrochemical methods to probe their redox behavior. I was awarded a DOE SCGSR Fellowship, where I spent five months at Argonne National Laboratory studying the electrochemical behavior of heavy elements in aqueous media. This experience enhanced my analytical skills and exposed me to cutting-edge facilities and technologies. Additionally, I have been recognized for my outstanding literature seminar on singlet phosphinidene reactivity, which demonstrated my presentation skills and my passion for re-discovering literature and keeping up-to-date with modern discoveries. I am currently learning Korean, and love learning new languages and cultures, as they enrich my perspective and broaden my horizons. I am fully committed to embracing a learning and instructional research environment, and I am always prepared to contribute to the scientific world with my knowledge, curiosity, and enthusiasm.
