About Nathan McCabe

I am an active, outgoing individual who has been an Activity Project Leader and English Instructor at Sodaterukai, a nationally backed child development program, for the past 6 years. I am currently looking for a mid-career position/entry-level position in a new field of profession to broaden my professional skills or use my current skills to benefit others. While working 6 years with Sodaterukai, I took charge of nearly every position available. In the English Department related programs such as evaluations, resource management, and teaching programs; even establishing one of the main programs in the department's history, Self-Study, which is a 30 minute session, working with a student on an individual basis, focusing on content that is tailored to that individuals desires, goals, strengths, and weaknesses. In addition to English related programs, I head-manned the outdoor activity-based Weekend Courses, Summer Courses, and Winter Course. I gained valuable experience by being in-charge of the outdoor activity camps and leading my team as we worked together to guide the participants. Throughout my tenure, I also aimed to gain experience in promotion, by taking on assignments such as running a booth at public events, or being broadcast on the city radio station. At the end of my tenure, I tried to gather experience in Human Resources and Management by taking charge of the International Staff Human Resources Department (hiring process). Prior to that, I spent nearly 6 years as an Assistant Language Teacher where I was in-charge of class planning, preparing lessons and classroom teaching. In early 2022, I aimed to empower others and by utilizing my love for the outdoors, I co-founded a project on social media called AdventurersJapan to pursue my dream of inspiring others to be active, explore, enjoy the outdoors, and expand their horizons. Likewise, I am in the midst of a career change away from teaching with the hopes of aquiring new skills and experiences.
