About Nathan McKenzie

I am currently working for Canadian Institute of Health Research (CIHR) as a Business Analyst, where I provide high level insight into planning and altering corporate policies optimally, while working with high-level ranking stakeholders. Due to this, I understand the complexities of working within and obtaining grants within the research environment. I have secret security clearance within the Canadian Government and have years of experience with dealing with sensitive information. I have also completed my Canadian Securities Course, which has taught me how to approach various investment vehicles, and the intricacies of managing a diversified portfolio of investments. I am a results-oriented individual that thrives in high pressure situations, and is accustomed to working on multiple projects, with competing timelines. I am especially proficient at building strong internal and external relationships with stakeholders, working within constrained timelines, and executing business action items with ease. I learned to treat each stakeholder as a partner, and provide each one with individualized service in order to deliver projects within scope, budget and the allotted timeline. I also have extensive experience delivering presentations and chairing meetings, and within CIHR, I have presented weekly (over a series of months) complex processes to internal teams and senior management, to improve the efficiency of the organization. For the past ten years, I have been a business analyst and customer relationship professional in the finance and health industries, and have developed and honed my analytical, technical, and organizational skills, and am more than accustomed to working within very tight timelines. I acquired valuable and relevant experience from my previous positions, such as to effectively create, monitor and execute a project plan. I am also a strong team player, and I understand its importance of fostering a collaborative environment where all can succeed.
