About Nathan Mealey

As a trained librarian and skilled technology professional, I lead teams and initiatives within academic libraries. My objective is to strengthen core technologies and integrate emerging approaches to help libraries evolve. I work across a broad range of cross-functional stakeholders to design, implement and maintain systems that enable libraries to harness the countless opportunities presented by the digital information age. Excellent communication skills and a strong command of underlying technologies enables me to bridge the divide between technology vendors, information technology and library staff. I empower my teams and colleagues to acquire skills and learn new platforms that enhance their ability to serve our faculty and patrons. Some of my own technology skills and passions include, but are not limited to-Coding in languages like: Ruby, PHP, Python, SQL, Javascript, and XML -Administration and customization of library platforms: Ex Libris Alma/Primo, Millennium, and ILLiad -Administration of web-services stack components: Apache, IIS, MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server -Database design and administration
