About Nathan Messier

I spent most of my early working years in commission based sales, and moved to the credit union industry in search of stability and opportunity, working in an industry that aligned with my personal values.Having started in the credit union industry in the contact center, I was able to gain a wealth of knowledge about a profession that I was totally inexperienced in. Since that move, I climbed the ranks to the role of Senior Consumer Loan Underwriter for a $1B+ asset org where my primary focus was providing lending options for renewable energy projects such as solar and weatherization, indirect lending, and helping underserved members achieve their financial goals. My experience with this larger organization gave me the necessary groundwork to move on to my current role in leadership, managing a branch location, providing a full range of services from deposits to lending at another local organization.Outside my roles in lending and management, I have experience on many project teams and committees focused on positively shifting the culture within organizations, as well as employee recognition, and loan product development. In addition to my roles in the credit union industry, I am also passionate about serving my local and surrounding communities by volunteering my time as a member of the Board of Directors, Finance Committee, and Credit Quality Committee for Community Capital of Vermont; The Board of Directors at the Credit Union Young Professionals of Vermont, and I look forward to connecting with likeminded professionals at local chamber mixers, and community partnership events.
