About Nathan Oakes

I am happy to declare my developing passion as an aspiring First Nation Public Health professional, and First Nations researcher who seeks more experience in a collaborative multi-disciplinary workspace. My mission is to demonstrate the ability to build relationships and cooperation with First Nations individuals, local community leaders, healthcare professionals, and government agencies in support of improved health outcomes for Indigenous populations. My philosophy for my work is grounded in my cultural background, Public Health education, and diverse lived experiences. My vision is to be a part of innovative collaboration strategies to address complex First Nations health disparities, social and health service inequities, health policies, and regulations, and provide First Nations patients/clients the ability to navigate complex systems to ensure access to necessary resources and services.
