About Nathan Ochoa

Bachelor's in California -> 7 years in electric utilities -> master's in Finland -> LCA, sustainability and environmental engineer I am an interdisciplinary expert at Fimpec Engineering and provide technical expertise in multiple disciplines. My project management background started in California with project coordination for electrical infrastructure projects. At Fimpec I have scheduling and project management for a wide variety of industrial projects, including a bio product mills and green steel mills. I am proficient with both MS Project and Primavera P6. In my largest project I was a Primavera P6 administrator for a steel mill project, 2.5 mton/year, that consisted of activities and EUR 4.5 billion capital investment. I focused mainly on engineering and procurement sequencing but also worked on construction sequencing. For water treatment I have done the basic and preliminary design for several projects including a m3/day treatment plant that utilized a membrane biological reactor (MBR). This included basic dimensions, technology recommendations, and curating a list of suppliers and sub-contractors. On other industrial treatment projects, I helped optimize phosphorus and nitrogen removal levels by creating dynamic simulations of the biological reaction basins using SUMO Dynamita. Using advanced modelling led to cost saving recommendations by fine tuning nutrient dosing and aeration. Previously, I worked for seven years in the electric utility industry in California, where I gained valuable experience in project management, network design, load and demand analysis, and technical consulting.
