About Nathan Oliver

As a health economics intern at CARTI, I apply my communication and analytical skills to support the Clinical and Business Informatics team. I assist with leveraging AI systems to maximize business intelligence opportunities, and analyses in real world data, budget impact, cost effectiveness, and value. I am also involved in the contracting process for drug and medical supply vendors. My current focus is in health technology assessments, pharmaceutical strategy architecture, and drug/medical supply cost analysis for CARTI. I am currently pursuing a masters degree in Health Administration at UAMS, where I am learning about the principles and methods of economic evaluation, health policy, and health systems. I have also gained valuable experience in emergency medicine as a scribe for four years at Arkansas Scribes, Inc. and Bell Solutions, LLC. Both companies provided services to Medical Services Group, a physician owned organization contracted with Baptist Health in Little Rock. While there, I assisted physicians by documenting patient’s pertinent medical history, narrative, and physical exam. I was able to witness the entire patient care process first hand, including any emergent procedures. My work allowed physicians to focus solely on the patient’s care. High patient volumes necessitated close cooperation and attention to detail, as my documentation would often be referenced by physicians to assist with the medical decision making process. I am passionate about improving health care quality and access through evidence-based decision making and innovative solutions. I am eager to learn from and contribute to the CARTI team, which is dedicated to providing comprehensive and compassionate cancer care to the community.
