About Nathan Pen

I am a recent Master's graduate from The George Washington University majoring in electrical engineering with a concentration in Photonics and MEMS I am passionate about cars and electronics, specifically how they work and all the new advancements that the field is creating. I have developed my skills in critical thinking, attention to detail, and problem solving through my internship at Sargent, MC Dean, research with the university, my position as an undergraduate teaching assistant, and in my participation in the SAE Baja club and the student mentor program (SEASSPAN) at my university. Now I am looking to apply those skills in an electrical engineering position in the field of circuit design, VLSI, hardware design, or software. I have experience with hands on skills such as soldering, crimping, computer assembly, automotive maintenance, and mechanical work. I also have knowledge in programming with C, C#, Python, Java, and MATLAB, as well as software experience using Cadence, Synopsis, AutoCAD, and Unity. Some of my electrical projects include a layout for 5-bit ALU chip all created in Cadence, assist writing the code of a VR clean room in Unity, an analog CMOS Schmitt Trigger to model neural memory, and my senior design project of a smart package lock box that uses a Raspberry Pi, multiple electronic sensors, and an accompanying app.
