Background
About Nathan Reid
I began working at the age of 14 and haven’t stopped since, throughout this time I’ve been a barista, shop assistant, admin assistant and a few more. These diverse experiences collectively underscored an aspect I was passionate about, the business environment. From a young age, the intricacies of business operations, especially the strategic aspects of product marketing and sales with consumer-centric approaches, fascinated me. Further, excelling in this subject during secondary school solidified my career aspirations. Following my secondary education, I pursued and successfully obtained acceptance into Robert Gordon University, where I completed a BA Honours degree in Business and Marketing. The decision to choose this university was influenced by its distinguished reputation, accompanied by a wealth of awards and opportunities, notably the prospect of a placement year. Despite the challenges posed by the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, which affected the securing of traditional placement opportunities, a solution came my way. Following a conversation with my boss and her learning of my predicament, the idea was proposed of a tailored placement within the organization. Embarking on this unique placement journey at KDance, I initially served as a receptionist and admin assistant before the placement commenced. After my responsibilities gradually expanded to encompass roles as a marketer and front-of-house manager. Throughout this period, I contributed to various facets of the studio's operations, including website updates, social media content creation, marketing material development, and event organization and management. Upon the conclusion of the placement, I submitted my university coursework, achieving a commendable 'B' grade. Having now dedicated over three years to the organization, I feel immensely fortunate for the breadth of experience gained. Armed with a Bachelor of Arts with Second Class Honours (1st division) in my Business and Marketing degree, I am actively seeking job opportunities and graduate schemes to further amplify my acquired experience. I am particularly enthusiastic about roles in social media marketing, business ethics, or event organization, where I aim to contribute effectively and continue my professional growth.
