About Nathan Reyes

For over a decade, I've worked on the frontlines of war, striving to protect the lives, dignity, and rights of families and communities facing terrible hardship. I've witnessed firsthand the devastating consequences of armed conflict and violence in some of the world's most challenging environments. But amidst the suffering, I've also seen the power of hope, compassion, and selflessness. My journey has taken me from facilitating the liberation of hostages to coordinating the search and recovery of missing persons, bringing solace and closure to grieving families. I've helped youth develop the capacities to address their community's most pressing challenges and reclaim their futures. Along the way, I've cultivated skills in navigating sensitive negotiations with state authorities and armed actors, building trust with diverse communities, and developing innovative solutions to needs. In this career and life of mine, I've come to deeply believe that by hearing the voices of those affected by conflict, fostering dialogue, and innovating approaches to education, we can disrupt violence and build a safer, more just, dignified world.
