About Nathaniel White

I build microbial and ecological systems that leave the world more resilient than I found it. Rooted in a background spanning fungal biotechnology, regenerative farming, and food justice education, my work lives at the intersection of biology, systems thinking, and sustainability. From designing cleanroom fermentation infrastructure to rebuilding living soils with indigenous microorganisms, I bring a cross-functional lens to every challenge—bridging technical execution with ecological purpose. As the founding technical employee at Sempera Organics, I led upstream operations and R&D, building out fermentation platforms from spore to scale. I initiated internal tooling to support traceability and quality control, and collaborated across academic and commercial partnerships to bring wellness-forward fungal products to market. Before biotech, I rebuilt a dormant tomato greenhouse on a regenerative farm in Kauaʻi. Before that, I served with FoodCorps in North Carolina, designing experiential food systems curriculum and connecting local growers to public school cafeterias. My mission remains consistent: to contribute to microbial, ecological, and human systems that nurture both planetary and community health. I'm especially interested in efforts that unite biological insight with climate impact—at scales that matter.
