About Nathaniel White

I guess I was probably supposed to narrow down from four different fields at some point before I graduated, but here we are. There's plenty to do in software engineering where "concrete" just means omitting "abstract" in front of a Java class. There's even more to do when considering problems as tangible as actual concrete. This is why my coursework entails classes like organic chemistry, modern physics, and statistics alongside a traditional CS track. Coupled with co-ops at a metal refining startup and a gene editing company, I am equipped and enthusiastic to work outside of the silo of pure software engineering. Problems in medicine, energy, defense, robotics, agriculture, telecommunications and more don't pay attention to the boundaries of fields. Understanding the full solution space requires a knowledge of natural science, and coaxing solutions out of nature's complexity requires the power of computation.
