My research focuses on the identification of host factors particularly enzymes critical for viral pathogenesis using the CRISPR/Cas9 loss-of-function screen. After validation of the top hits by orthogonal methods, they are targeted by small molecule inhibitors using high-throughput screening. The novel therapeutic target with bound inhibitor is further evaluated by structural and functional analysis.
