About Neale Tillin
I am a sport scientist with over 15 years experience of studying the factors that determine human muscle strength and how strength affects movement, in the context of health and sports performance. I have published widely in this area. My research also focuses on studying the use of wearable technology to monitor fatigue and workload during team sport activity. In particular, I am currently studying the efficacy of using electromyography (which measures muscle electrical activity), integrated with GPS technology, to assess muscle fatigue during team sport activity. Funding to support this work is being provided by the De Luca Foundation 'Rethink EMG Challenge'. Outside of sport Science, I am a freelance researcher for medical communications companies, focusing on musculoskeletal health. I lecture sport and exercise science at the University of Roehampton, London, where I am also the Deputy Dean of the School of Life and Health Sciences.
