About Neda Glisovic

I am a passionate and curious scientist currently pursuing my PhD in gut biology, with a deep interest in understanding how fibroblasts shape tissue function. My research combines advanced techniques such as single-cell RNA sequencing and high-resolution confocal and two-photon microscopy. I use these tools to explore how fibroblasts contribute to the maintenance of intestinal homeostasis, as well as their roles in injury and wound healing in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). 🧪Fibrosis is one of the major complications of IBD, and I’m passionate about uncovering the cellular and molecular mechanisms behind it to help guide the development of better treatments. Alongside my research, I’m taking my first steps into scientific illustration— an exciting way for me to translate complex biology into clear, visual stories. I believe science should be shared — whether through conferences, collaborative projects, or creative outreach. As part of my experience living in Paris, I’ve taken the initiative to learn French, enhancing my ability to integrate both culturally and within the scientific community. I thrive in interdisciplinary environments, value empathy and communication, and I am always excited to connect with people across science, art, and beyond.
