About Neha Joy

The undergraduate curriculum in civil engineering at Marian Engineering college introduced me to many subjects to tackle civil engineering problems. The contamination of air, water and soil by human activity is a severe issue in the present scenario. My B.Tech project aimed to find the impact of Industrial waste on water and soil quality. The project also aimed to suggest remediation techniques for water contamination and to reduce contaminant transport through the soil. After my undergraduate studies, I got an opportunity to work as GRIHA in charge of the initial stage of phase 5 construction work of IIMK. I did my post-graduation in 2015-17 at Marian Engineering College, Trivandrum; I was deeply interested in my UG project. During my post-graduation studies, I presented and contributed papers at International and National conferences and presented a poster presentation in 29th Kerala science congress. I have also done several NPTEL online certification courses offered by IITs and IISc, which gave me the knowledge and experience necessary to contribute to my research domain. After my post-graduation, I got an opportunity to work as a Research Associate at the College of Engineering (CET) in the project “Development and characterization of landfill liner using local soil. In addition, I have got a teaching experience of 2 years and 3 months at different Engineering college under KTU ( A PJ Abdul Kalam Technological University)
