About Neil Loftus

I am currently a final year student studying social science and cultural innovation in DCU aiming to finish with a second class honours in my degree. I have throughly enjoyed the course as it has allowed me to further interests which I have in Media, Politics and Sociology. In my final year I choose to specialise in sociology as I have an interest in pursuing a career in this field in the future. During my final year I have been tasked with completing a dissertation and I have chosen to look at the different ways in which the Covid-19 pandemic has impacted on homelessness in Ireland as I have a keen interest in social justice. As part of this I have had to conduct interviews with some of the main homeless charities in Ireland to discover the magnitude of the problem. Next year I have been fortunate enough to be presented with the opportunity to study abroad in the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona one of the top universities in Spain. I am looking forward immersing myself in the culture and furthering my Spanish language skills. This is a great chance to explore new modules and become a more well rounded student. Upon complition of my degree I hope to commence a masters degree in Public Relations and Strategic Communication. Which will hopefully be a further stepping stone in my degree. I am a hard working and driven individual who has worked in well established hotel with a fast paced environment. While working in Sydney this gave me the opportunity to work in an educational setting and develop vital skills such as communication, team work and interpersonal skills
