About Neil Mannion

After over 3 years experience in Quality Control and the pharmaceutical industry I am excited to move into computer and Software Development. To hope to gain experience in this new industry through graduate positions and internships to have a better grasp of the area I wish to focus on. I have experience writing projects using the following tools: Java: used both in stand alone applications and as part of the back end for websites. With Java I wrote a single person game "morra" where you would compete against a computer choosing lucky numbers and by the end of the session would receive a score sheet for individual games, sets and sessions as well as the choices made at each step. As part of the back end of a website I followed MVC patterns which used.jsp pages as the "view" which allowed me to use Java to write the Controllers and Model (in conjunction with Hibernate). Spring: using both Spring securities, Spring framework (V5) and Spring boot for website creation. A powerful tool it allowed for the ease of creation of projects which followed Inversion of control and dependency injection (either through constructors or method injection), this helped create a "loosely coupled" project. SQL: I used MySQL for permanent data storage and used Hibernate in conjunction with it. AWS: I've taken advantage of AWS to gain experience of cloud storage and gain experience with Amazon services. To this end I gained experience with Route53, Elastic Beanstalk and EC2.
