About Neil Thomson

As a debt restructuring professional who has worked across several sectors involving regulated and unregulated loans, I’ve had the opportunity to design and implement strategic systems and processes to recover debt and protect capital. This has been whilst gaining satisfaction from leading deal teams to achieve goals. I’ve enjoyed the challenge of advising and negotiating with credit committees, company boards, senior management and shareholders to finance, restructure and sell assets. My career has been focused on restructuring borrower’s bilateral and syndicated loans with senior and subordinated debts and hedging facilities, covering debt-for-equity swaps, workout and recoveries via insolvency appointments and loan sales. I feel comfortable managing large portfolios of stressed and distressed loans pre- and post- restructure with the ability to quickly identify, escalate and resolve potential loan impairments in line with regulatory requirements.
