About Neill Thompson

A high-achieving task-oriented engineer with over 25 years of experience in managing projects across a range of disciplines. This includes 15+ years of experience in senior-level roles and vast knowledge from working for Tier 1 contractors, Telstra and Councils. He is well known for building good working relationships with contractors and stakeholders to successfully deliver difficult projects including turning around problem projects. Neill's current role involves planning and managing projects in a regional council's Water and Waste Directorate. Neill has also managed teams of in excess of 30 personnel and provided valuable insights by undertaking key roles on large-scale projects such as the NBN rollout. He has also developed and overseen corporate infrastructure programs with a total value of up to $1 billion pa. These roles required detailed technical knowledge along with the ability to make strategic decisions and positively work with people to achieve required outcomes. Neill's strengths are in the project and financial management of activities and infrastructure, with a proven track record of developing systems and processes to achieve high quality and exceed targets consistently. Neill is also experienced in managing resources of various levels and has been exposed to a wide range of tasks. Neill's objectives are always to investigate and seek improvements to ensure future organisation directions are managed at the highest possible level. Neill has also assisted Engineers Australia by organizing technology presentations, speaking and introducing presenters at seminars, and writing articles. Neill is also a keen photographer experienced with Digital SLR cameras and Adobe Lightroom.
